The member who hears your case will make the decision. The Tribunal does not give its decision at the hearing. The member reviews all the evidence. The Tribunal must issue its decision within 60 days from the conclusion of your hearing. After 60 days, you may contact your Client Service Representative to say that you have not received the decision. Your Client Service Representative will inquire about the status of the decision and provide you with an update. It is the member's responsibility to write and issue a decision. You may request that the Tribunal reconsider the decision if you have a valid reason for doing so. Your request may or may not be granted. For more information about Reconsideration Hearings click here.
If you believe the Tribunal has made an error in law, its decision can be appealed to the Divisional Court. You may wish to seek legal advice to do this. For legal assistance, you may wish to visit the web site www.legalaid.on.ca. If the office that made the original decision does not comply with the Tribunal's decision, you may wish to contact a legal clinic for advice. www.legalaid.on.ca.
